Normally re-gifting flowers is bad thing!
As an event planner, Jennifer Grove realized that wedding flowers were usually only used for one single day — and then were thrown away.
In hopes of reducing waste and adding value, she started the company Repeat Roses, which takes event flowers, turns them into different arrangements — and then donates them to people in need.
The new arrangements get delivered to hospitals, hospices and homeless shelters, anywhere someone’s life could use a little brightening.
The company then collects the flowers again so they can be composted and enrich the soil, instead of just thrown in a landfill.
The work Repeat Roses does ends up putting smiles on the faces of many people … and also gives a boost to the environment by reducing waste. (ABC News)
