Hagerstown Man Killed In Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Police say the operator of striking vehicles suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Hagerstown, Md (KM) Hagerstown Police continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian accident Wednesday  afternoon.

Authorities say at around 2:40 PM, officers responded to the 900 block of Potomac Avenue for a report of a pedestrian struck.  Albert Sciblia, 55, of Hagerstown had been standing near his Ford F150 pick up truck with an attached trailer when he was struck by a Lexus sport utility vehicle. Sciblia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator of the SUV was a 39-year-old woman from Hagerstown who was taken to Meritus Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The Hagerstown Police Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene. The results of their investigation will be turned over to the Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office for review, and whether charges will be filed.
