A Survey On The Fiscal Year 2026 Budget Is Now Open

Residents are asked about their priorities for the next fiscal year.

Frederick, Md (KM) A survey is underway in Frederick County asking citizens to provide their input on the proposed fiscal year 2026 budget.

The County says citizens can go on line and take a short survey asking them to identity their budget priorities for the upcoming fiscal year. The survey can be found at FrederickCountyMD.gov/Budget. It will remain open until Friday, March 21st at 4:00 PM.  Each funding category lists the descriptions and actual responses that have been submitted to the County Budget Office. .

“This will be the most challenging budget we’ve faced in nearly two decades,”  says Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, in a statement. “Federal funds we’ve been promised are on hold. Federal workers’ and contractors’ income is uncertain. And the State is proposing to shift millions of dollars in cost to local governments. This survey will help us make the most of our scarce resources to meet the needs of our community.

Citizens can also take part in a public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, March 19th at 7:00 PM They can come to Winchester Hall in person to participate; or follow the hearing on FCG TV.

Residents can also listen and comment via their phones. They can call 1-855-925-2801, and enter meeting code 7515. Residents can press #1 to listen to the meeting; #2 to record a comment for playback during the public hearing; or #3 to be placed in a queue to speak. They will be able to hear the meeting while waiting for their turn to speak.

During the meeting comments can be submitted on line at FrederickCountyMD.gov/BudgetPulicHearing.
