Code Blue Declared In City Of Frederick

It’s due to the extremely cold weather.

Frederick, Md (KM) The Frederick Police Department says a Cold Blue has been declared in the city through Saturday, February 22nd until 7:00 AM, and that’s due to the extremely cold weather.

Adults who need a warm place to sleep at night can go to the Alan P. Linton Emergency Shelter at 27 De-Grange Street starting at 6:30 PM. Those individuals who have been previously barred or trespassed from the shelter can call 301-644-4456, and discuss other options. Families with minor children should call that same number, 301-644-5644 for information.

A daytime warming center is located at the Frederick Rescue Mission at 419 West South Street from 7:00 AM until 9:00 AM .where residents can get breakfast.

Frederick City’s Housing and Human Services Department at 100 South Market Street will also serve as a daytime warming center It’s open from 9:00 AM until 6:30 PM where residents can also get lunch and dinner.

The Salvation Army at 239 Evergreen Place is open as a daytime warming center from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.

Residents can also call 211 for additional resources.
