The operator of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
Walkersville, Md (KM) The investigation continues into a fatal pedestrian accident Tuesday night in Frederick County. State Police say John Boyd II, 38, of Frederick was struck by a motor vehicle along Md. 194. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The operator of the striking vehicle identified as Alexander Genatowski, 30. of Frederick, remained at the scene.
Troopers with the Frederick Barrack were dispatched at around 10:30 PM to Md. 194 near West Frederick Street for the accident. . Their preliminary investigation determined that Genatowski was driving his Ford along Md. 194 southbound when the vehicle in front swerved into the northbound lane. Boyd was standing in the southbound lane of Route 194 when Genatowski’s vehicle struck him.
Md. 194 was closed for over an hour while Maryland State Police conducted their investigation.
Authorities say when their investigation is completed, they will present their findings to the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office which will determine if charges need to be filed in this case.
