Frederick Teen Charged In Road Rage Incident In Montgomery County

Rockville, Md (KM) A 17-year-old Frederick boy is charged in connection with a road rage incident in Montgomery County on Monday.

State Police say at around 2:00 PM,  troopers from the Rockville Barrack received a call about the incident along Interstate 270 at Falls Road. The victim said another motorist pointed a gun at her during a road rage encounter. Authorities say she was not hurt, and was able to provide a description of the suspect.

Troopers with the State Police Highway Gun Crimes Initiative and personnel from the Frederick Barrack located the suspect vehicle and detained the juvenile.   A loaded handgun in plain view was found  in the vehicle and was confiscated.

State Police say the youth is charged as an adult with felony assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony crime, and other firearms offenses.

He is currently being held at a secure juvenile facility following a bail review hearing before a District Court Judge.
